Join monthly kirtan in Brisbane with Kirtan With Friends. We gather in West End and Clayfield to sing sacred mantras, meditate together and share a nourishing vegan meal in a warm, welcoming community. Our kirtans are open to everyone. No experience is needed. Just come as you are.

Monthly Kirtan in Brisbane

Kirtan With Friends hosts regular kirtan gatherings in Brisbane, offering a simple and heartfelt way to experience mantra meditation through music, voice and connection.

Kirtan is a call-and-response style of chanting that invites participation rather than performance. Some people sing loudly, others quietly, some simply listen and feel the vibration. There is no right or wrong way to take part.

Each gathering is followed by a shared vegan meal, creating space to connect, reflect and enjoy community together.

  • Kirtan has roots in ancient devotional and yoga traditions, but our gatherings are non-dogmatic and open to people of all backgrounds. No belief system is required.

  • Not at all. Many people attend their first kirtan with us. You are welcome to sing, listen or simply enjoy.

  • A smile, comfortable clothing and anything you need to sit comfortably. Cushions are provided.

  • Yes. Our kirtans are beginner-friendly and guided by our friendly hosts throughout.

  • The chanting usually lasts around 60–90 minutes, followed by a shared vegan meal.

  • Yes. Sharing food is an important part of our gatherings. We provide either a vegal meal or snack.
